Shinmi Cafe
Our History
The building used to be an apartment house built in 1975. The penny candy store that was its front part was called by locals “Shin-mise (the new shop).” Some time later, the shop came to be known as “Shinmi.”
Since it is our wish to provide a place of comfort to customers while cherishing the local history, we retained the old windows and pillars from the time it was originally built.
Homemade food
Taco and crema coffee are the two most popular menu items. Our tacos are made by the elder brother, Rakuto who lived in the United States for many years. He learned how to make authentic tacos. Our desserts are made with love by our mother. Hope you enjoy our food!
Kids' Area
We heard from many families with small children -- “We want to go out but it’s hard to find a place where we could take our children!” Since we wanted such customers to come to our place, we created a small play area for kids -- with picture books and toys. Come and enjoy your time with your little ones at Shinmi.
